The 2007 Kamloops Group and Our Itinerary

 

    Preparing for departure at Vancouver International Airport, July 1st, 2007

 OUR ITINERARY

Sat.  July    1     Depart Vancouver International Airport, late afternoon on Canada Day.

Sun. July   2    

July 1 –      Depart from Vancouver for Dar es Salaam.

 

July 4 –      Half of the group arrives; the other half arrive the next day.

 

July 5 –     Tegeta, the Mission Centre in Dar.

 

July 6 –     Spending the day at Bagamoyo – Freedom Village.

 

July 7 –     On the road to Dodoma

 

July 8 –     Mass, African style.

 

July 9 –     A Day of Reflection

 

July 10-13 – Starting work in the village of Iyumbu,                                                                  and visiting the Ursuline Sisters Orphanage

July 14 –    A visit to the market in Dodoma

 

July 15 –    Hombolo and a visit to one of Mother Teresa’s orphanages

 

July 16 –    Back to the Village

 

July 17 –   A visit to the school in the morning; in the afternoon

                      a visit from the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Edward Louassa

 

July 18-19 – Back to the Village

 

July 20 –   Village in the morning; a visit to the Village of Hope in afternoon

 

July 21 –    Road trip west to Kintiku, Chibamagwa, Manyoni and Itigi

 

July 22 –    The hospital in Itigi;

                       on the way home, a stop to experience leprosy at Sukamahela

 

July 23-27 – Back to the Village;

 

July 28 –    Our last day in Dodoma

 

July 29 –    Morning Mass with the Masai; then on the road to Mikumi.

 

July 30-31 – Mikuma National Park

 

August 1 –   Return to Tegeta

 

August 2-4 – Shopping and swimming in the Indian Ocean

 

August 5 –   Depart Dar for the long journey home, via London
